"Macavity: The mystery cat" is a remarkable poem composed by a great modern poet and critic T.S. Eliot. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for literature in 1948.
The poem is about his clever cat named Macavity. It is very tall and thin. The poet says that macavity is a criminal. It breaks every human law. It also breaks the law of gravity. Macavity knows a thousand and one tricks on commit a crime. It commits many crimes and never leaves behind any clue of its crime. So, it is never caught red- handed by anyone. It goes everywhere but nobody knows its activity. It cheats as cards to everyone.
Thus we can say that the poet is attracted towards this mystery cat and everybody is attracted too because of its cleverness and perfection.

यह कविता मैकाविटी नाम की उसकी चतुर बिल्ली के बारे में है। यह बहुत लंबा और पतला है. कवि का कहना है कि मैकाविटी एक अपराधी है। यह हर मानवीय कानून को तोड़ता है। यह गुरुत्वाकर्षण के नियम को भी तोड़ता है। मैकाविटी अपराध करने की एक हजार एक तरकीबें जानता है। यह कई अपराध करता है और अपने अपराध का कोई सुराग नहीं छोड़ता। इसलिए, यह कभी भी किसी के द्वारा रंगे हाथों नहीं पकड़ा जाता है। यह हर जगह जाता है लेकिन इसकी गतिविधि किसी को पता नहीं चलती। यह सभी को कार्ड के रूप में धोखा देता है।
इस प्रकार हम कह सकते हैं कि कवि इस रहस्यमय बिल्ली की ओर आकर्षित है और इसकी चतुराई और पूर्णता के कारण हर कोई आकर्षित है।
